Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix an Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished third in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and signed an official contract with Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at an institution called the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her events.
